About Dr. Hunter

Dr. Michael Hunter, born in Parkersburg, W.Va., attended public schools in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Baylor University, Waco, Texas in 1969 with a double major in Chemistry and Psychology. In 1973, Dr. Hunter graduated from Des Moines University, Des Moines, Iowa with a degree of Doctor of Osteopathy. Dr. Hunter completed a straight internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tulane University, Charity Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1977, Dr. Hunter began practice in a multi-specialty clinic until 1988 then began a solo practice at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital to date.

Dr. Hunter is a fellow in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1981 and is board certified. He is also a long standing member in the American Fertility Society, Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Association.

Dr. Hunter is married to his wife, Jo Nell, and is the father to Stephanie and Chris. In addition to his many professional responsibilities, Dr. Hunter finds time to enjoy his interests in amateur radio ( K5HDU ), golf, snow skiing, and traveling.
